Bibliography

Head of a Kore statuette found on the Acropolis. It preserves the figure’s neck. The face is notably long and the lips’ corners are slightly upturned forming the restrained smile known as the “Archaic smile”.

The facial features are emphasised with colour. Vividly painted was also the stephane that the Kore has on her head whereas the red pigment seen today on the hair may have been the undercoat for their final hue. Her ears were adorned with black, round earrings.
